Areas of Expertise

Sociology of sex and gender, hate crime, sexual violence, masculinity studies, segregation, social construction of race, class, gender, sexuality, disability and beyond, gendered border patrol/control.

Director of Gender and Special Populations.
Project Director on the Office of Women’s Health grant to end violence against women on college campuses. 

Project leader for GWU C.A.R.E.S. (Campus Access to Resources and Educational Services) which provides training to university police, housing staff and athletes, and funds events on campus to promote awareness about violence.
Advisor for various women’s student groups such as the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance and some sororities.
